Here is a short version of our post-operational recommendations for getting FUE Hair Clinic patients. You will receive extended instructions, as well as a set of specialized hair care products.
1. The transplanted area is covered with lotion and left in this state for 45-60 minutes. This causes a softening effect on scabs around the transplanted grafts. This softening phase helps to remove traces of injured blood. After 45-60minutes, the scalp should be washed with warm water.
2. Donor and the transplanted area is washed with special medical shampoo. To do this, lather a little quantity of shampoo between your hands and very carefully apply to the entire scalp. Do not rub. All washing stages should be performed softly using palms, with no pressure.
3. After washing, dry your hair with a paper towel. Do not rub – just pat it very gently.
Shampooing should be done daily to remove the scabs. After about 7-10 days there should be no more traces of blood blood or scabs on your scalp. You may start washing your hair the normal way no sooner than 14 days after the transplant. Do not wash your hair more than once a day. Continue using the special shampoo until the bottle is empty.
Mild pain can be present for a couple of days after the hair transplant procedure. Some people report difficulty sleeping the first days post-op. This can be relieved with over the counter painkillers.
There is some swinging in almost all cases. It affects the forehead and the area around the eyes and lasts two to five days, being maximal on the fourth day. However, it does little harm and lasts no more than a week. A drug called Dexamethasone is given to reduce these symptoms.
Itching is a very common feeling after the hair transplant. It may occur all over the scalp. In cases when it becomes very strong, antihistamine pill can be taken.
We ask that you sleep on your back, with your head elevated on a few pillows. By raising your head, the pillows decrease any swelling that typically occurs after the hair transplant.

At the end of 4th month, re-growth rate should be around 30% and within 6th month re-growth rate should be around 60%. The end results should be evaluated 12 months post-op.
You will get a panama type hat at the clinic which you should be using whenever outside or during your trip home. The hat will protect your scalp from the dust, sun and other environmental factors. Please wear this hat for 5 days post-op, after that you can wear any other hat of your choice. Please wear headwear for up to 2 weeks when outside.
Immediately after hair transplantation, you can start to go for a short walk or do physical exercises that do not make you sweat too much. You can already start actively exercising 10 days post-op.
One should wait for 3 months after surgery for any kind of manipulation on the scalp.
Consuming alcohol will increase the healing time of wounds after the hair transplant. It will be better to wait for 2 weeks post-op.
Given to all patients after the operation for reducing of the possible swapping in the forehead area. 2 pills per day should be taken for 2-3 days, preferably after breakfast and dinner. If the patient sufferers from ulcer, then it has to be used together with probiotics.
Given to all patients after the operation. Lotion should be applied to the recipient and donor areas by gently tapping. One should wait for around 30 minutes to wash it off with lukewarm water and shampoo. Please avoid scratching the recipient area and be very careful with the towel. Hair wash should be performed 3 times a day until all scabs fall off. If donor area feet dry in between the washes, one can apply a thin layer of the lotion to calm it down. No washing is needed in this case.

Will be prescribed if necessary. This is antibiotic is used for preventing possible infections. It might not be suitable for every patient. This drug is suitable for patients with diabetes. Usually prescribed for 3 days post-op.
Will be prescribed if necessary. It is used to make weak hairs stronger and to minimize future hair loss. Also, used for minimizing shock loss after the operation. Patients might notice a decrease in libido. This rare side effect is temporary and goes away after quitting the pill.
Proscar 5 mg – consumed ¼ pill daily.
Propecia 1 mg – consumed 1 pill daily, preferably at the same time each day.
Minoxidil (5% or 2%)
Will be prescribed if necessary. Male patients should use 5%, whereas female clients should choose 2% version. Used for minimizing hair loss.
Can be used 1 month after the transplant operation, when the recipient and donor areas are completely healed.
Will be prescribed if necessary. Biotin is often recommended as a dietary supplement for strengthening hair and nails. Should be used for up to 6 months after the transplant.
Will be prescribed if necessary. This device is used for massaging the scalp and better blood circulation. Can be only used 45 days post-op, 2 to 3 times a week.
