Hair transplantation is currently one of the most famous cosmetic surgeries where it has been solved – and finally – a major problem that people have suffered throughout history, the problem of baldness. Hair transplantation with the passage of time has undergone many changes and mutations before reaching its present booming and distinctive form. Hair transplantation is now safe, available and successful.
Unfortunately, all of these experiments and operations did not make hair transplantation effective and safe in the expected form. Hair transplantation remained an unsafe surgery at that time, and even when the surgery was successful, patients did not get very satisfactory results.
Hair transplantation continued to develop slowly, as the tools used became better and more accurate and the results of operations became more satisfactory. This development continued until doctors reached the FUT (Follicular unit transplantation) technique in 1995, Hair transplantation using FUT technique was not easy to perform for the normal surgeon at that time but was significantly more effective than the other techniques used at that time and opened the door to modern hair transplantation techniques.
Despite the relatively good results achieved by the FUT technique at that time, it was not satisfactory for many because it left the patient with permanent scarring after surgery. There was a need for a new technique that did not leave scars and was available and accessible to a larger number of people. This was achieved by the emergence of the distinctive FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique that appeared in 2005. Extraction technique was a quantum leap and made hair transplantation possible for a large number of people without fear of scars accompanying the patient after the operation.
The mutation that occurred for hair transplantation was not limited to techniques, for example, whole countries have contributed to the spread of hair transplant, such as Turkey, which made hair transplant available in modern technologies at reasonable prices suitable for the average person, Turkey has become a leading country and the destination of medical tourism for those who want to get rid of baldness.
The great development undergone by the hair transplant surgery since its discovery so far has made it a safe and successful operation and can be considered in its present form as the only effective treatment for baldness.
